Customer Spotlight: DraftServ Technologies
At this year’s 141st Kentucky Derby, DraftServ Technologies debuted the first ever mobile self-serve beer container. Modified from a standard 20ft refrigerated storage container, the DraftServ station dispenses beer from 24 taps and allowed Derby-goers to choose from 6 different types of beer.
DraftServ Technologies is an innovative Georgia based technology company that designs and builds self-serve draft beer units. You can find their mobile units on cruise line ships, sporting venues, restaurants, and more.
Portable Refrigeration Storage, Inc. (PRS) is proud to have been able to help DraftServ Technologies to adapt their innovative product to better serve large-scale sporting and social events. After sourcing the 20ft refrigerated storage container, PRS made some minor modifications to the unit. From there, the DraftServ team worked their magic! They installed the beer taps and proprietary DraftServ monitoring software.
Refrigerated storage containers have many applications and numerous benefits. Given DraftServ Technologies’ position as a leading innovator in the draft beverage industry, it is not surprising that they would choose to modify a refrigerated storage container for their needs.
Refrigerated storage containers are a smart choice because of their efficiency, durability, and portability. 20 ft refrigerated units are a popular choice due to their efficient balance of storage space and size. Storage space is not limited to the inside of the container however, DraftServ creatively maximized their space by installing a DJ booth on top of their container.
Our refrigerated units also use highly efficient electric cooling systems, saving you money while maintaining a controlled environment. This is especially relevant given that DraftServ’s mobile beer station holds not only inventory but also the sophisticated electronics and software that make DraftServ Technologies product unique.
Durability and portability are other important benefits when using refrigerated storage containers. DraftServ designed their beer station to be used at large-scale events all over the nation; most recently the beer station was used at the Indy 500.Using a storage container allows for secure and easy transport. Durability is also a factor when serving large-scale events. This year the Kentucky Derby alone saw a record breaking 170k people. Thankfully, DraftServ’s choice of a refrigerated storage container means that their mobile self-serve beer station will last for years to come.
